Teams

The links below represent each of our Elk River Baseball House leagues.  Please click on the appropriate league for detailed information, and also team pages.

PLEASE NOTE:  Our house leagues are based on the CURRENT grade of your child (NOT the grade they will be in next year).

Minors (Coach Pitch) -  PreK - Kindergarten: 
Definition:  Minors is a non-competitive “coach pitch” league focusing on baseball fundamentals.
Location:  Teams are made up of players from the Elk River community, and all games are in Elk River. 
Evaluations/Teams:  There are no player evaluations and the League Commissioner randomly selects teams.
Practice/Game Nights:  Minors will meet 1-2 nights per week (Mondays for sure) during May and June.  Each night will consist of a 60 minute practice, followed by a 2 inning game.
Notes:  This league uses a safety ball and has an end of the year jamboree.


Rookies (Machine Pitch) - 1st and 2nd grade:  NEW!
Definition:  Rookies is a non-competitive “machine pitch” league focusing on baseball fundamentals.
Location:  Teams are made up of players from the Elk River community, and all games are in Elk River. 
Evaluations/Teams:  There are no player evaluations and the League Commissioner randomly selects teams.
Practice/Game Nights:  Rookies will meet 1-2 nights per week (Wed for sure) during May and June.  Each night will consist of a 60 minute practice, followed by a 3 inning game.
Notes:  This league uses a hard ball and has an end of the year jamboree.


Majors (Kid Pitch) -  3rd grade: 
Definition:  Majors continues to focus on the fundamentals of the game while introducing competitive play as players begin to pitch to each other.  Scores and standings are kept.   
Location:  Teams are made up of players from the Elk River community, and all games are in Elk River. 
Evaluations/Teams:  Teams are drafted after a player evaluation.
Practice/Game Nights:  Majors will have approximately 1 practice per week, and 1 6-inning game (Wed is game night).
Notes:  This league uses a hard ball and has a mid season tournament and end of the year playoffs.

4th Grade House: 
Teams from surrounding communities will play a regular season schedule with playoffs at the end of the year.

5th and 6th Grade House: 
Teams from surrounding communities will play a regular season schedule with playoffs at the end of the year.

7th Grade House: 
Teams will play a regular season schedule against teams from surrounding communities in the North Star League, with year-end playoffs against other Area 728 teams.

 8th and 9th Grade House: 
Teams will play a regular season schedule against teams from surrounding communities in the North Star League, with year-end playoffs against other Area 728 teams.
