11:00 - 12:30 PM:  11U

2:00 - 3:15 PM:      12U - (Last Names I-Z)
3:30 - 4:45 PM:      13U
5:00 - 6:00 PM:      14U

Saturday March 26:

8:00 - 9:15 AM:     10U - (Last Names A-H)

Welcome to the Elk River Baseball season and the travel program. We are very aware that this is an exciting and stressful time for both the ballplayers and the parents. For that reason, we have prepared an outline that explains the tryout process in detail. We are very confident that we have created a system that gives everyone an equal chance to compete for a spot on these teams.

There will be at least one team formed at each age level. Due to numbers and/or ability level, there may only be an A or B team, not both at any particular level.

TRYOUT GUIDELINES

The players will be evaluated on the following areas:

Ground balls: 35%
· Fielding form
· Throwing form

Fly Balls: 15%
· Catching form
· Throwing form

Hitting: 45%
· Swing form
· Bat speed
· Contact

Running: 5%
· Time 1 - 90 feet
· Time 2 - 90 feet

Pitching will be for those that want to tryout for those positions. This station is not included in the player’s overall rating, but may be a factor in the coach’s selection.

· Pitch accuracy
· Pitch speed

JUDGES
None of the judges used are affiliated in any way with Elk River Baseball and they do not live or have children playing baseball in the district. Although some pre-selected travel coaches will be at the tryout and may even be keeping track and scoring, they will have no input or weight in the scoring.

The qualifications of some of the judges are as follows.
· Professional Baseball players.
· Collegiate Baseball Players.
· Professional baseball instructor.
· Tryout judges for other communities.
· Coaches from various levels.

SPECTATORS
Due to the small amount of room in the facility and for the overall benefit for the participants, NO SPECTATORS will be allowed in tryouts. This rule will be strictly enforced and we ask that you all respect this request!

REVIEW PROCESS
Elk River Baseball keeps all tryout forms as well as the overall rating of all participants in each group.
