  1. All players registered for this league are strongly encouraged to take part in the player evaluation in order for ERBB to develop equally balanced teams.
  2. Players will be evaluated by all league coaches at a series of stations including hitting, fielding, catching, throwing and pitching. Players will have ID numbers on their shirt for coaches to reference.  Brothers who wish to be on the same team will have the same evaluation ID number and will have an “A” or “B” added to their tag so coaches are aware they’ll be drafted on the same team.
  3. In addition to 1 head coach, each team may have up to 2 assistant coaches in the Majors, and 1 assistant coach starting in the 4th grade league.
  4. All coach’s kids (including assistant coach’s kids) must participate in the player evaluation.
  5. Coach’s kids will be identified with a different color ID number so all evaluating coaches know who they are.
  6. Coach’s kids will be evaluated for an overall skill level of 1 (Excellent), 2 (Average), or 3 (Developmental).  The evaluators will have a separate score sheet for coach’s kids that must be handed in to the league commissioner immediately following evaluations so the draft can be formatted accordingly.
    1. If 1, that player is the #1 draft for the team.
    2. If 2, that player is the #5 draft for the team
    3. If 3, that player is the #9 draft for the team.
    4. If the head coach’s/assistant coach’s kids are evaluated with the same score, they will be drafted consecutively.
  7. If 3 coach’s kids score a 1, they will be the #1, #2 and #3 draft picks for the team.
    1. Any coach’s kids who do not attend the evaluation are automatically a #1 draft.
    2. If discrepancies occur, the final draft decisions will be made by the league commissioner and league director.
  1. The draft will take place at a designated time and location the day after the evaluations.  All head coaches (or designated assistant coach) must attend.  Assistant coaches are also welcome.
  2. Team sequence of draft will be determined by a lottery.
  3. The draft will continue in sequence until all kids who were at evaluation are drafted.
  4. When the sequence falls on the draft # of the coach’s kid(s), that team skips that round.
  5. When brothers will be drafted to the same team, the draft choice of the one brother will result in the next draft choice being the second brother.  Example:  Sam and Max are brothers.  Sam is picked as the #4 draft choice for Team 3.  Max automatically becomes the #5 draft choice for Team 3.
  6. After the draft is complete, the names of kids who were not at evaluations will be displayed to all coaches.  Any known “stand-out” players must be identified at this time.  The players will be distributed equally to all teams via lottery drawing with the exception being that no team can draw more than 1 of the aforementioned stand-out players.
  7. The league commissioner will communicate player/team assignments, contact information, etc. following the league draft.  Any disputes or other requests should be communicated to the league commissioner within 24 hours of the draft.
Special Instructions:
  1. Requests for players to be placed on the same team (for ride-share needs, etc.) will be considered on a case by case basis.
  2. Requests for kids to be on a certain coach’s team, or NOT on a certain coach’s team, will be handled case by case with oversight from the league commissioner and league director.
  3. Coaches can consider trades after the draft (due to unique/extenuating circumstances) as long as the trade is made prior to the first practice, the respective parents are aware, and the commissioner is updated immediately.
